Aaahhh newborn photography, my one true love! The reason I wake up happy in the mornings. It is a very specialised industry and takes years of investment, safety training, practise and patience. Your gorgeous new baby boy or girl will change every single day, and of course, you want to capture them in their earliest days and hold on to those precious memories forever. I strongly advise booking your shoot whilst you are pregnant, particularly as this means I can get you booked in whilst baby is still young and sleepy - this really helps to get those super cute, curled up, naked shots. Newborn shoots can be done up to 8 weeks old, however the best age is from 5-14 days old.
These newborn shoots usually take place in the comfort of your own home. (Check if I cover your area here) I allow 2-4 hours for newborn shoots, as they can be very time consuming with feeding, changing and comforting the baby throughout. The most important thing during the newborn shoot is patience – you cannot rush a newborn baby and need to make sure they are comfortable and happy whilst being photographed.
Before your newborn session I will get you to fill in a questionnaire so I can plan your shoot to make sure the styling is to your liking. Everyone is different - some prefer much simpler shoots, with mostly whites and very natural posing. where-as others prefer colours, crowns, flowers and props etc. Some love wrapped and not keen on naked shots, and others are the opposite, although most people love to get a mixture of beautiful natural naked shots, cosy wrapped up burrito shots, simple all-white-no-frills shots, with just a sprinkle of magic, a tiny crown or a boat load of flowers! Whatever your preference - I love to be able to deliver exactly what you want.
I have a variety of wraps, props, headbands, hats and more. It is of course, perfectly okay to leave it all to me if you don’t mind, and just want beautiful pictures of your new baby.
There is a £50 booking fee to secure your newborn shoot, you will book in with your due date and once baby has arrived, we can get you booked in asap.
Both pricing packages can include family images. I sometimes do get more images than included in the packages, if this is the case you will be able to choose your imgaes, with the option of purchasing more.
You will receive your gallery 2-3 weeks after your shoot, via a secure online link where you can download the high res files, suitable for printing.
